I thought this was going to be a tricky topic for me, and it was, I’ve edited this so many times!! OK, so I know there are a ton of things I like and dislike on covers but I haven’t consciously sat down and thought about it much before, I decided to actually think about it today so I could organise my thoughts and create a post that makes sense… I’m not sure I’ve achieved that! I wanted to do a rant-style post on this a while ago and saved it all up for today… and I’ve basically discovered that in most cases there can be exceptions to my own cover rules. Brace yourself.
I don’t get a “summer” anymore. Of course, I get the season of Summer, if you can call it that here in Ireland, but I don’t get a full-on summer break because I’m an adult now with a full-time job *boo, hiss* so I don’t expect to be able to do any more reading than normal *sigh*.
For this week’s TTT, I’ve made a TBR list of books due out over the summer that I’d like to read. It’s pretty ambitious, but I’d like to get to these at some point.

When I glanced through my Goodreads shelves, I realised that any books I felt “meh” about from the start, never went on to become amazing, or even just good reads. If they were “meh” at the start they were pretty “meh” at the end too. Putting a book down, or marking it as a Do Not Read, Do Not Resuscitate, Back-Away-From-This-Book is really hard for me, so when I do finally put a book down I’m pretty sure that I never want to see it again.
So, this week I bring you the Top Ten Books I’ve Put Down and You Can Tell Me Why I Should Pick Them Back Up!
I am one of those awful people who most definitely judge a book by its cover. I think we all do on some level, don’t we? The cover is our first insight into the book and is usually the number one thing that will make me want to pick it up and find out more about it. Never underestimate the power of an intriguing/beautiful/quirky cover!
This week’s Top Ten is the top ten books to read if you like certain TV shows/movies/plays etc. Not sure if I can get ten out of this one, but we’ll give it a go!
Figuratively speaking, of course. I don’t advocate violence but I’m sure others have felt this way too – you can read a book and love it, but there will always be those annoying or horrible characters that we all love to hate, and who really need a good ole’ fashioned slap round the back of the head, you just itch to reach in between the pages and deliver them a head-smack.
When it comes to bookish items there are so many I would love to have and if I had an infinite supply of money and space to keep them… it’ll be tricky to choose just ten but I’m going to kick this off with three items I own, then the rest are on my wishlist/radar.
