Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire Book Cover

Book Review: Beautiful Disaster

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand… Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Stacking the Shelves Book Haul 2014

Stacking the Shelves May 2014

When I started blogging I already had a substantial TBR pile, and finding out about highly-rated, great new books through blogging meant I was adding to that pile pretty regularly. I was also very lucky to be approved for some popular books on NetGalley. This was great, I was doing loads of reading and felt […]

Amazon versus Hachette

Amazon Vs Hachette – Who Do You Support?

Settle in and get comfortable, people. This one’s messy. Before I started book-blogging there were many things unknown to me (actually, I’m pretty sure there are still many, many things unknown to me), but eventually I became keenly aware of the goings-on in book-world; from blogging plagiarism scandals, to highly anticipated new releases and from […]

100 Books to Read In A Lifetime

100 Books to Read in a Lifetime

While doing my daily email cleanse (another slight OCD-ish complex of mine) I came across an email with the subject, “100 Books to Read in a Lifetime”. Of course, this piqued my interest, I love lists and I’m always intrigued by the varied “best of” collections; from the BBC’s Big Read list of the nations’ favourites, to The […]

Reading, Blogging and Trying To Have a Life!

Here’s something no one really tells you (and even if they do, you kind of don’t believe them) – blogging takes time. And book blogging takes even more time, because you have to actually read the book before you can write the review. I may have come up with a potential solution…

Top Ten Tuesday Books I Haven't Finished

Top Ten Tuesday – Books I’ve Put Down

When I glanced through my Goodreads shelves, I realised that any books I felt “meh” about from the start, never went on to become amazing, or even just good reads. If they were “meh” at the start they were pretty “meh” at the end too. Putting a book down, or marking it as a Do Not Read, Do Not Resuscitate, Back-Away-From-This-Book is really hard for me, so when I do finally put a book down I’m pretty sure that I never want to see it again.

So, this week I bring you the Top Ten Books I’ve Put Down and You Can Tell Me Why I Should Pick Them Back Up!
