Last year, I took part in the 2015 Discussion Challenge, hosted by Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight and Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction. I really enjoyed it, so of course, I’m bringing it back this year!
How Much Do You Spend On Books? 2016 Edition
Last January, I put together a post that analysed how much I spent on books throughout the year, and I’ve decided to bring it back for a 2016 edition. I’m a great believer in hunting down deals and bargains, and I’ve always believed that while I do spend money on books, I spend a reasonable amount, and make sure I get a lot for my money. So let’s see how I did in 2016!
The Day My Sister Became BFFs With Cecelia Ahern…
This is the story of what happens when you can’t make it to a book signing, when your sister agrees to go for you, and when the author has a great sense of humour…
Guest Post – Andi’s ABCs
Hello, Book Geeks!
Today, I’ve done a guest post over on Andi’s ABCs! I talk about an Accessory, Book and Clothing item I’m dying to get my hands on. Find out what I’m lusting after over on the blog!
Do Publishers Actually Hate Us?
Fear not! I’m still doing 25 Days of Blogmas, I’m just running a little behind on today’s post, which has ended up being a positive thing, as I was stuck earlier for something to rant about, but Book Geeks on Twitter have come to my rescue! For those who aren’t up to date on the latest […]
Crazy and Best Search Terms of 2015
When my blog was an infant at just 6 months old, I decided to analyse my blog-stats, and was amazed/confused/elated by the sometimes ridiculous, and often hilarious, search terms people had used that led them to my little corner of the Internet.
So now, I post an annual response to some of those terms…
The Transatlantic Book Project: The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender
Last month, I posted about The Transatlantic Book Project, which is being hosted by myself and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense. A quick recap for those who don’t know: 2 books are travelling around 10 book bloggers, 5 in the US and 5 in the UK, and those bloggers are going to annotate the books […]
25 Days OF Blogmas!
Yes, you heard it here first – I’ve officially gone mad. So, for the last few months I’ve been a little absent on the blogging front. I haven’t left the community, far from it, but I am posting a lot less regularly. Vlogmas is something I’m used to seeing on BookTube, but it wasn’t until Samantha @ […]
Death of the “Buy Link”?
We all have our own standard review format, a layout that we copy again and again when we are putting a review together. Most of our reviews also have similar elements – a link to Goodreads, a book synopsis, a final rating. One element that many book bloggers include are “buy links” or purchase links […]
The Transatlantic Book Project
There was once a Book Blogger, who wanted to buy a book, and have it travel all over the US to her Book Blogging friends, who would write little notes inside, and eventually the book would make its way back to her with everyone’s annotations. This Book Blogger was Alicia from A Kernel of Nonsense. […]
25 Bookish Facts About ME
1. I’m a definite night-time reader. I’m a bit of a night owl in general, but when it comes to reading, I tend to only read in the evenings, and usually right before bed. 2. I read loads of different genres and can’t really pinpoint a favourite. YA, adult, contemporary, romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, non-fiction, I […]
#NotAskingForIt
I recently read Asking For It by Louise O’Neill, and while putting together my review, I realised I had a lot more to say about the content of the book. I was originally intending to do a joint review and discussion post, but it ended up being far too long, so I’ve decided to write my discussion […]
Review: Asking For It
It’s the beginning of the summer in a small town in Ireland. Emma O’Donovan is 18 years old, beautiful, happy, confident. One night, there’s a party. Everyone is there. All eyes are on Emma. The next morning, she wakes on the front porch of her house. She can’t remember what happened, she doesn’t know how she got there. She doesn’t know why she’s in pain. But everyone else does. Photographs taken at the party show, in explicit detail, what happened to Emma that night. But sometimes people don’t want to believe what is right in front of them, especially when the truth concerns the town’s heroes…

My Reading Is Being Sabotaged… By My Fitness!
It’s a subject that rears it’s ugly head frequently in the book blogging community – how on earth do we find the time to work, go to school, have families, read, blog, catch up on other blogs we follow, have social lives, and do other things like eat and breathe? Reading, blogging, and trying to […]
A Way Into YA
Hello! This is just a quick post to let you know that I’m featured over on An Armchair By The Sea today, with a guest post recommending my favourite YA books! Check it out and let me know what you think of my recs! I’ve been quiet on the inter-webby-waves lately, and was hoping to get lots […]
BookTubing vs. BookBlogging – Is This Really A Thing?
Apparently, BookTube and Book Blogs are at war, and I’m wondering if I’m the only one who didn’t get the memo? I decided to write this post to share my thoughts on why this perception may exist, and why I think it’s important for members of both communities to not be afraid to speak up […]
