6 Month Challenge Check-In!

Reading Challenge 20152015 was my first chance to complete a full year of blogging (from January to December), and so my first chance to properly participate in some challenges. I’ve seen a couple of other bloggers post updates on their progress and thought it was an excellent idea to try and keep me focused and on track. I don’t think I read enough to include my Challenge Check-In in my monthly wrap-up, so I’m doing a quarterly review instead.

Goodreads Reading Challenge

Goal 52 Books Achieved 38 Books
I’m definitely happy with my reading progress for the year. Of course, I’d always love to fit more in (I honestly don’t know how some of you do it!), but with other commitments I have (like work, eating, breathing), I just don’t think I could manage it!

Popsugar Reading Challenge

Goal 50 Books Achieved 15
I’m pretty happy with this, though I’ll need to get a bit of a move-on to complete it within the year, which I really want to do!

The ReRead Challenge

Goal 12 Achieved 1
This is awful. I was so excited for this challenge too, but I think until my TBR goes down a good bit, my brain just isn’t going to allow me to reread! I might be able to bring this up soon – I’m thinking of rereading the Throne of Glass series before the next release in September…

2015 Discussion Challenge

I didn’t set myself a goal for the number of discussions to post in 2015, but I know I definitely haven’t been posting as often, or as freely, as I’d like. I have a couple of days off work soon for Public Holidays, so I think I’ll dedicate some time to catching up with this. Check out my progress here.

2015 Contemporary Challenge

I’ve kind of given up on this one. I’m still reading plenty of Contemporaries, I’m just struggling to remember to link them up to the original challenge post. I don’t know if I should try and backdate the whole thing, or just leave it out. Suggestions?

What Challenges are you participating in for 2015 and how are you getting on with them? If anyone has any great tips on rereading, please let me know!

  1. How do you feel about audiobooks? I enjoy re-reading by listening – it makes the experience slightly different. Of course, audiobooks are expensive, so it depends on your library.

I re-read To Kill a Mockingbird this year. It was narrated by Sissy Spacek. Her deep Southern accent was perfect for the book!

      1. Haha, yes I commented on that post. I don’t generally sit still while listening to an audiobook. I listen to most on my iPhone. I just stick it in my pocket, speaker end up, and listen while I do housework.
I have the audiobook version (Reese Witherspoon!) on hold at my library. I’m number 5 on the list, which isn’t too shabby. 😀

You’re doing pretty darn good. It’s hard to fit in reading with all the adulting we have to do. I will be happy if I hit my book goal for the year, and I still want to re-read something, anything, just to say I did!

  3. I’m in the same boat with the reread challenge- the only book I’ve reread this year is The Catcher in the Rye, and that was in Jan/Feb! There are just so many new books that I want to read!!
