I had this sitting in my drafts for so long, that I can’t remember if I was tagged to do it, or if I just decided to because it looked fun… (Edit: I think maybe Charnell @ Reviews from a Bookworm tagged me…). To me, books I actually own make up my TBR pile, so I’ll include books that are on my wishlist that I don’t yet own too sometimes, and let you know which is which!
1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Keep track of it?! That’s funny. I don’t, I can’t and I wouldn’t know where to begin. Just recently though, I attempted to tidy up my shelves on Goodreads – so now I at least have a kind-of accurate physical TBR pile (want-to-read shelf), wishlist and thinking-about-it-shelf. And they’re all HUGE.
2. Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?
Print. According to my (kind-of accurate) Goodreads shelf, I have around 160 unread print books. I tend to only read eARCs and library eBooks. I do binge-buy cheap eBooks with the philosophy that at least they’ll be there when I fancy reading them, but I don’t get round to it that often. I’ve also noticed that I can only read so many eBooks in a row before my hands crave the feel of paper.
3. How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I can officially class myself as a mood reader – now that I know that this exists! I can sometimes stick with an ARC reading schedule, but most of the time I don’t, so I try to be more selective now in choosing ARCs so that I’ll still want to read them after a while. I try to keep a balance though, and switch up genres, so I don’t get in a slump.
4. A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?
Thankfully, my physical TBR pile isn’t actually that old. I think this has to go to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I keep telling myself I will actually read it one day. The Husband’s Secret has probably been on my wishlist the longest.
5. A book you recently added to your TBR?
These would be my most recent purchases, which are Station Eleven, The Miniaturist and The Silent Sister. The most recent books I added to my wishlist are All The Bright Places, Outlander and The Handmaid’s Tale.
6. A book on your TBR strictly because of it’s beautiful cover.
7. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading.
Ummm. Probably none. If I plan on never reading it then I’ll either DNF it (if it’s an ARC) or give it away if it’s a physical book. Although my TBR pile is sizeable, I do actually plan to read them all… some day.
8. An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for.
Queen of Shadows and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas, November Nine and Confess by Colleen Hoover and Never Never Part 2 by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher.
9. A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you.
Definitely The Raven Boys, though I’ll be fixing that soon! The Shatter Me series, The Infernal Devices series, The Fifth Wave and the Game of Thrones series probably come in there too. Books on my wishlist that I feel everyone else has read except me are the Shadow and Bone series and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.
10. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you.
Always The Raven Boys! Everyone seems to be loving the Mistborn series, or anything by Brandon Sanderson, which of course means they’re now all on my wishlist!
11. A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read.
The Under the Never Sky series, everyone seems to have amazing things to say about it.
12. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
168. Give or take…
I’m tagging the following bloggers to take part! If you’ve already done this tag, feel free to leave a link in the comments!
I’ve started using trello to keep track of my TBR pile 😀 And it’s actually helping because I feel a lot less guilty about the pile of eARCs I’ve gotten via netgalley (and still haven’t finished reading!!) 😛

LOL Yes but that’s only because I read mostly on my Kindle! But I also keep borrowing from the library…? 😛

You still have a manageable pile, at least. While I’m drowning in my TBR. Anyway, I hope you’ll get to read The Grisha Trilogy, and finally see what the big deal is. 🙂

FUN! I like this tag, because I love talking about all the books on my list. Even though lately, my list is just overwhelming to me. 🙂
I guess I didn’t realize that you were more of a paper book reader. Interesting! I knew you read both, and collected books, but I didn’t realize you prefer them. I’ve pretty much completely gone electronic. I read maybe ONE paper book a year now.
I’m going to have fun with this!

I like the idea of the TBR pile – but it’s never-ending! Lol Oh I’m such a paper book kinda gal – I can do eBooks, and I’ve read a lot of them in January, but I’m paper preferred all the way. ONE A YEAR?! I need to convert you back lol R x

The Raven Boys!!! Yay for reading it soon. I”m also a total mood reader, and I can’t create a reading list. It just does not work for me. And I am also very selective in the books I request.
I actually did this tag a bit ago. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing and tagging me!

There’s so much love for that series, I’m now afraid to read it! Lol I have to say though, I had a goal to clear out my NetGalley backlog by the end of 2014, and though I failed miserably, I’ve been doing so well in January… which has resulted in me requesting a couple more, granted, but I’m on a mission to get that ratio up! Thanks for commenting, Quinn! R x
