The lovely Emily @ Books and Cleverness has tagged me in the 7 Deadly Sins Tag! We all know I’m partial to a tag or two (and a gif or five), so brace yourself…
1. Greed – What is your most inexpensive book?
Inexpensive… Hmm… Physical book – I picked up 12 Years A Slave for £1 when I was doing my grocery shop, and no I haven’t read it yet… I pick up quite a few eBooks through Amazon for free or on offer. The cheapest I’ve paid for an eBook is 49p for The Love of My Life. I should really do an overview post of the deals I’ve found.
2. Wrath – What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I don’t really have a love/hate relationship with authors as much as I do books and characters. The book that stands out to me as a love-to-hate-read at the minute is Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. You can also check out the Top Ten Characters I Love to Hate here.
3. Gluttony – What book have you devoured over and over with no shame?
I’m going to go with Harry Potter too, Emily. I have reread other books, but none as often as Harry Potter. It’s definitely the series I attempt to push on to most people, and I’m just a wee bit, slightly obsessed with it.
4. Sloth – What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?
Umm… my entire To Be Read pile?? Nah, that’s not true, it’s just an Everest. I own all 7 released books in the Game of Thrones series and haven’t started them yet due to laziness. They’re huge. I might wait until Christmas time when I have two weeks off from work…
5. Pride – What book do you most talk about in order to sound like an intellectual reader?
I don’t, really. I know a lot about my favourite books and can gush about those to anyone who’s listening, but I don’t really talk about books to sound intellectual, it’s difficult to sound intellectual when you’re in the middle of a geek-fit. I suppose I could chat about the classics (the ones I’ve read anyways), or heavier non-fiction texts. I read them occasionally.
6. Lust – What attributes do you find attractive in male or female characters?
Hmm… There are “good” attributes I find attractive, and then there are the ones everyone seems to hate (Travis/Trent Maddox etc.). I like it when a character is smart and witty, when they banter and have sarcastic comebacks. I like it when they have layers (visualising the Shrek onion scene here), when tough guy characters can talk about their feelings and make you swoon. I like someone with a strong personality who can take charge every now and then. Should I just turn this into a personals ad??

7. Envy – What book would you most like to receive as a gift?
Any. I’m very not fussy 🙂 I do have a particular few books on my wishlist that it would be nice to receive as a gift, or ones by favourite authors, it’s always nice when someone remembers who your favourite authors are.

Ooh fun! Thanks for the tag–since my blog is on hiatus, maybe I’ll do it over on my bookish tumblr soon.
I’m totally with you on the Harry Potter as the “gluttony” one! Those books can just be devoured over & over. I swear I like them even better each time I read.

No problem 🙂 I was thinking tags and whatnot could help you build up some scheduled posts for when you come back. Don’t you usually schedule a month ahead?
I LOVE HP more every time I read it too, ultimate childhood nostalgia trip! R x

Woohoo! I was already thinking of how I would answer the questions and then I saw the nomination – how fun! 😀
The gifs are great – I especially love Beast and the cat one. I use my kids as gofers so I don’t have to go up and down stairs ALL the time. 😛
I’ve been considering a book deals post myself. I’d love to read yours.

That was handy! I think that cat rolling down the stairs is hilarious! Most of my deal posts focus on physical books – https://confessionsofabookgeek.wordpress.com/features/bookish-deals-and-discounts/ but I’d like to do one on eBooks. Problem is though, you don’t know how long the offer is on for, and it can take a good bit of time to find decent reads… R x

Ah, HP, everyone’s gluttony 😀 Love it!
As for ASoIaF, it took me a year to read all. I did have 2 exams months in there, and had to wait for book 5, but it takes a while. 😀 Good luck!

Ohhh I’m not looking forward to it!! I’ll maybe read them at the same time as my usual reads. I don’t usually read more than one book at a time, but I think trying to read them all would be death-by-fiction! R x

Thanks so much for tagging me, had a lot of fun doing this! We had a few similar answers, Game of Thrones is one I have put off because the books are soooo long! And HP is definitely the books that I have reread the most, just over and over again.
HAHA I loved your lust answer, you already know where I stand on the Travis front. I did just pick up her other book – is it Beautiful Oblivion – for £1 as it was a brand new paperback and if I end up despising it as well then I can give it away.

Just went over and checked, and you have your response up already – Monday morning reading sorted! I think HP has been everyone’s answer for gluttony so far, it’s a wonder JK hasn’t taken over the world at this rate! I’m not 100% sure where you’ll stand with Beautiful Oblivion, I don’t want to spoil it for you, so we’ll chat after you’ve read it, but I think you’ll prefer Trent to Travis, though whether or not you’ll actually like Trent… I’m not sure… lol R x

Lovely?? Aw, shucks! Loved your answers, especially that bargain for number one, and being a proud mama for your kids reading! If anything mum encouraged me to read when I was little, and then tried to discourage it when my books began taking over the house! Lol R x
