A few weeks ago, I shared with you that this blog – my lovely little corner of the Internet – had been long-listed in the Blog Awards Ireland. Around a week ago, I found out Confessions of a Book Geek was shortlisted, and I didn’t share it at the time partly because I thought that’s as far as I would go and I’d write about it in my monthly wrap-up, and partly because I held my breath wondering if I might just make it to the next stage. And I did.
Confessions of a Book Geek is a finalist in the Books and Literature category (along with some fabulous other bloggers, who you should check out)! My sister’s blog has also made it to the finals, so we’re pulling a few strings to attend the awards night together in Dublin!
Fellow Irish bloggers who I’ve spoken to online for years but have yet to meet in person, brace yourselves, I’m coming for you!
Of course, we all know that as bloggers we ultimately care about the community relationships we foster, that we take ultimate pride in our content, and that awards alone are not why we put so much blood, sweat, and tears time and effort into our blogs. But, every once in a while, it’s a really nice feeling when your blogging efforts are appreciated and recognised :D.
Congratulations to all the finalists! I’ll meet you at the bar! 😉
