Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait To Get My Hands On
I tend to be pretty good when it comes to finishing series. I usually binge-buy and/or binge-read them, and don’t like to leave a series unfinished. I also tend to prefer reading a series when all of the books have either been released, or they’re close to all being released, so I might struggle to fill ten spots this week! For most of the books on my list too, I already own the sequels and just need to get round to reading them…
1. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas – And Heir of Fire… and the next three books in the series. I own all of the released books, but I’m savouring these bad boys before the wait kicks in for the next release. I recently read, reviewed and fell head-over-heels in love with The Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass. ❤
2. Crash Into You by Katie McGarry – And Take Me On… and Breaking The Rules. I own Crash Into You as an eBook and can’t wait to get to it, though I’d love to own all of these in hard copy. I love this series, and to see how much, you can check out my reviews of Pushing the Limits and Dare You To.
3. A Girl Undone by Catherine Linka – The sequel to A Girl Called Fearless (I know Jamie is looking forward to this one too!). I went into A Girl Called Fearless thinking it was a standalone, but it became apparent that there was more to this story… Due to be published in June 2015.
4. Seconds Before Sunrise by Shannon A Thompson – I read Minutes Before Sunset and was pretty much enthralled with this paranormal read. I’ve had book two for a little while now, but I kind of want to wait until closer to the release date of book 3 to binge them all.
5. Inheritance by Malinda Lo – Adaptation was one of the first eARCs I read and reviewed on this blog, and I would love to continue on with the series to find out what happens next.
6. The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion – I really enjoyed The Rosie Project, it didn’t quite blow me away, but it was a really enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to reading more about Don and Rosie. I have an eARC of this one waiting for me, so I should get to it soon!
7. The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory – The sixth and final book in The Cousins’ War series (sometimes referred to as The White Queen series), I adored this series and bought the hardback of The King’s Curse on special offer when it first came out, and of course, I haven’t read it yet. I think I want to reread the whole series over the Christmas holidays though, and do an overview review.
8. Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater – I read the Wolves of Mercy Falls series a while ago now, but I really enjoyed the trilogy and was looking forward to Sinner, but I just haven’t got my hands on it yet. I sense this may be a Christmas present to me, from me 😀 .
9. Every Seventh Wave by Daniel Glauttauer – I picked Love Virtually up on a whim and it was such a quick and highly enjoyable read. When I found out there was a sequel, I got very excited! And bonus points to me for it being a translated book!
10. Untitled by Juliana Stone – I’m pretty sure everyone knows how much I gush about Boys Like You, and I received a tweet the other day that made my heart stop for at least a few seconds –
Which sequels made your list today? Do you have any great reads that you’d recommend? Link me up or let me know in the comments! Happy reading, Book Geeks!
I have one of Katie McGerry’s books on my kindle (red hot night, I think)- I need to see what the fuss is about!

Oh I love Crown of Midnight! I have yet to read Heir of Fire though. And Crash into you I enjoyed as well -but I haven’t read Take Me On either. Great list! When I was making mine I thought I’d have more sequels I was anticipating than I actually did. I was surprised that I tend to keep up with my series..

Ohmygosh I looooved Sinner. More than the rest of the books. It felt like WHERE SHE WENT by Gayle Forman (guy and girl meet up years later/had a past) with werewolves. I also really enjoyed CRASH INTO ME. I hope you do too! Great list!

I didn’t love Crash Into You… or Dare You To for that matter. I was OBSESSED with Pushing the Limits though, so I’m going to read Take Me On and Breaking the Rules hoping I can feel that way again.

I loved Pushing The Limits, and I have to say I enjoyed Dare You To as well, I was more concerned about Crash Into You and Take Me On in case they become formulaic, but I’m looking forward to reading them. I really can’t wait for Breaking The Rules as I have such a soft spot for Noah and Echo. I thought it was a novella, but it seems to be a proper novel! R x

Sinner is on my list too. I’ve been making my way through a reread of the series before I start it. I know I probably don’t need to but the series has been due a reread anyway. 🙂

I like to reread when continuing a series though, sometimes the small details are important and I like them to be fresh in my mind! Looking forward to Sinner as I really liked The Wolves of Mercy Falls, though I hear it’s actually her weaker series, so I should move on to the other one… R x

You are going to love Crown of Midnight! It’s my favorite so far in the series. I don’t blame you for waiting a little, I think there are going to be something like six books in this series.

Yep – 2017 is the estimate for the finish I think! And it is going to need to be a grand finale! No pressure, Maas… I can’t wait to get to the next ones! 😉 I actually have pre-orders for next year, been a while since I’ve done that! R x

I have Crown of Midnight on my shelf but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. I wasn’t completely blown away with the first book but I hope you’ll enjoy reading this and the other sequels in your list. I’m also looking forward to reading more of Katie McGarry’s books. 🙂

The first book was slow for me for the first half, but then I kind of got hooked, and while there were some flaws with book one, it was the fact this series ignited something in me and made me so excited – I couldn’t ignore that. I reviewed The Assassin’s Blade novella bind-up recently too, and it was really good, it answered a lot of questions from book one. Fans of the series seem to say that it only gets better, so I’m really looking forward to reading them. As for Katie McGarry, I own Crash Into You, but I’m really excited for Breaking the Rules, as I LOVED Pushing the Limits so much. I’m kinda dubious about Take Me On, not sure why, those covers just do not inspire faith in me, but I felt the same way about Dare You To and I really enjoyed it too. It’s just a shame they never seem to get the covers bang-on, as they’re such good books and I think the sometimes dodgy covers detract from that, especially the UK ones!

Gosh, I wish Crown of Midnight will pull me back in. This is one of the series that I really wish I liked far better than I actually do. Ditto on the cover for Take Me On. I know that it’s written by Katie McGarry and that’s enough to convince me to read it but seeing that cover takes a little something away from my enjoying the reading experience. lol 🙂

Have you read the novellas yet? I’ve heard great things about book 2, so here’s hoping! I’m so glad I gave Katie McGarry a chance, I wasn’t planning to with those covers, which I know is silly as book covers don’t often reflect the quality of the books, but it shows their importance!
