Another month has come and gone, this year is just flying by! I can’t believe it’s Autumn again already. I don’t enjoy the darker evenings, but I do have a certain fondness for Autumn and Winter. It’s the run-up to Christmas (I know some people are Scrooges, but I’m really not!), which means I’m looking forward to the festivities already, and I usually take a good break off work to spend time with family and friends. Life gets to slow down for a little while, and I love that. So far, my fitness bug is still with me and I’m still managing to work out three times a week. In other news, I attended the local Business Awards this month, and my company won the two categories we were in for! I’m ridiculously happy about this because I had to give the presentations to the panel of judges. Yay me!
The Books:
I wasn’t planning on getting any books this month (I need to stop lying to myself), but I read Asking For It (4.5/5) by Louise O’Neill last month and immediately needed to own Only Ever Yours. A quick search on-line and I discovered it was in The Works 6 books for £10 deal. You can imagine what followed… I was also feeling a little down at the start of the month, and a guaranteed pick-me-up is some retail therapy, so I got some charity shop finds too. I get the buzz, the charity get some money, and my bank account doesn’t hate me. Win-win-win.
I’m taking part in #otspsecretsister this round, and I am loving it. My sister seems to know me super well, and I’m loving getting a pick-me-up during the month – it always seems to come at just the right time too. This month my sis spoiled me with a mermaid themed box that included a signed copy of Lorali, an Ariel Funko Pop (my first, and I can feel a new addiction coming on), a gorgeous Ariel art print, 2 fandom style necklaces and Bounty bars (I LOVE Bounties!). She even included shredded blue paper packaging to match in with the sea theme. Perfection.
Movies and TV Shows:
For some reason I had the urge to re-watch all of Charmed, and I gave in. Netflix brings me so much joy and simultaneously ruins my life! I’m on Season 4 and I’m really enjoying it, but I feel like I should watch some new shows instead of re-watching all my old faves. I also watched To Kill A Mockingbird after reading and loving the book. Hmm… The movie was very long, and I think if I wasn’t in-love with the book, I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it, but it was nice to see the characters brought to life.

In Case You Missed It:
My fitness and general life-happenings has definitely put a dent in my blogging routine, but, I’m still here! This month I reviewed This Girl (4/5), A Court of Thorns and Roses (4.5/5), Asking For It (4.5/5), and Still Alice (4/5).
Top Ten Tuesday – The only TTT I took part in this month was Top Ten Finished Series I Haven’t Started Yet.
I wrote a discussion post about how my fitness is sabotaging my reading and blogging and I also took part in the blog tour for Push Me, Pull Me, which included an excerpt, interview and giveaway.
My most popular posts in September were my review for All The Light We Cannot See, and the interview with the cover designer for the new Bloomsbury Harry Potter covers.
How was your September? Talk to me in the comments!
I agree that Netflix can be a huge blessing AND a curse! 🙂

Awk, thank you for sharing my posts! 😀 And YAY you have autumn! Which means I get SPRIIIIIING. *flails around in sunshine and allergies* Hahaha, ahem, just kidding about the allergies. (But really. Ergh, spring flowers.) I’m really happy its warmed up a bit and I can read without huddling under 9 quilts.
Such beautiful stacks of books too!! I really want to read Lousie O’Neill’s new book sometime. 😀

No problem, thanks for entertaining me, and making me wish I could write posts like that! Lol Haha my allergies are starting to clear up now. I get them from April/May until maybe September? And I seem to be allergic to grass pollen. What kind of weak human is allergic to grass?! Have you read Only Ever Yours or Asking For It? R xx

First, thanks for the ping back, Rachel. ❤ You're the best!
Second, I wish I have some semblance of fitness to get in the way of blogging. Gah. I have been thinking about doing something like that, but now that the cold weather is upon us, I feel the laziness coming on. Any who, all in all, a fantastic September. At least you're around. 🙂

You’re welcome, Joy! I don’t need to use Pinterest for bookcase inspo, I just look at your photos lol
I’ve been anti-exercise for most of my life, so this is a very new thing for me, but I am enjoying it. Even on the days when I could see the gym far enough, when I push myself to go, I feel so much better afterwards. It definitely is true that you need to find something you enjoy, running is never going to be my thing, I just don’t enjoy it, but I love spin and cycling. I’m definitely not posting as often, but I’m trying, and I’ve relaxed about posting less too when I have to because of other commitments. Stress free blog zone, it’s such a relief as I used to get all kinds of stressed when I didn’t post 5 times a week! R xx

Your secret sister has fab taste! I have seen those Funko Pop figures on a few blogs and I think they look fab, I need some too! And well done on the presenting (I get nervous even thinking about it) and the awards, it’s always nice when hard work pays off.

Doesn’t she?! I don’t think I posted a photo of last month’s box as it was a bit of a crossover, but she got me Uprooted by Naomi Novik, Big Bang Theory Season 5, a Big Bang fandom tee, and lots of Kitkats! Superb. I need to meet this woman and go to the pub lol I’m going to do a wrap-up post of my experience at the end with all the photos.
And thank you, it definitely helps all the stressing and hard work when it’s recognised. It’s such a cliche but it is true, the more you do public speaking the easier it becomes. You still get a little nervous, but nerves are good in small doses! R xx

Your secret sister gift is awesome!! I love those Funko pop things. But I don’t need another obsession. Lol. Very cool about the business awards!! And I’m glad you’re still enjoying your fitness. 😉

Isn’t it?? I want to give her big hugs! I’ve never had a Funko Pop before, and I was debating getting one, because I thought I may end up hooked too, or not see the point of them. But they are ADORABLE. I do think I’ll only look out for ones that mean something to me, like HP ones, but Ariel is so special because I idolised her as a kid lol I wanted my own Sebastian, I was in love with Prince Eric, and “I want to be where the people are” was the first song I knew the words too. How cool am I? Thank you! Apparently my boss has something for me as a thank you… shall find out tomorrow I hope! Spin tomorrow night, and I can’t wait! 😀 R xx
