Stacking the Shelves & Wrappin’ It Up July 2015

Stacking the Shelves

Another month has been and gone, and now there are only 20 Friday’s left until Christmas… Mwahahaha. Sorry, not sorry. Anyways, lets get on with the monthly round up!

The Books:

As I predicted last month, there were plenty of purchases! The majority of the books came from charity shops though, which meant guilt-free cheap books for me, and a good deed or two into the bargain (photo to follow!)

I also signed up to the #otspsecretsister project, which is currently in Round 3, but it’s the first time it’s ever been done in the UK. My Secret Sister got me a beautiful hardback copy of Uprooted, which I’m around halfway through and really enjoying. You can find out more about otspsecretsister here, or stalk our tweets! Catching up on them is addictive, and it’s making me feel good already!

Movies and TV Shows:

Movies and TV Shows have definitely taken a back seat this month, possibly because I’ve started going to the gym, and I’m sticking with it (…so far!). Anyone who knows me will know this is a BIG deal. At the minute I go three times a week, so the only thing I’ve been watching lately is The Originals on NetFlix. Oh, and I LOVED Married At First Sight UK when it aired.

Wrappin’ It Up!

As always, I’m linking to the latest Oh, The Books! weekly recap post so you can find more amazing things to read!

In Case You Missed It:

The Nightingale Kristin Hannah Book CoverThis month I read and reviewed Grey (2/5), You (3.5/5), and The Nightingale (5/5). I really need to get my finger out and catch-up on reviews, because I have so many to do!

This month I also did a 6 month challenge update, the Mean Girls Book Tagthe 1989 Book Tag, and wrote two discussions – one on how I Created A Monster, and one on BookTubing vs. Book Blogging.

My most popular posts in July (except for TTT posts) were my review for All The Light We Cannot See, my BookTubing vs. Book Blogging discussion, and the interview with the cover designer for the new Bloomsbury Harry Potter covers.

  1. I’ve been seeing that hashtag every freaking where! I have no clue what it’s about, but y’all look like you’re having fun. 🙂 Here’s to a fantastic August!

I looove buying books second-hand. SO MUCH SAVINGS (although I do feel sad that I’m not necessarily supporting the authors money-wise, but at least I write reviews, right?! :D) Ahhh I love all these links and need to read one or twenty of them. Thanks for adding me in there. ;-)))

  3. I listened to The Nightingale on audio and it was FAB! In fact it makes me want to go buy a print copy too just so I can own a physical reminder of it. And yay, well done for hitting the gym 3 times a week! I must keep an eye on #otspsecretsister for the next sign up, it looks like a lot of fun.
    Happy August!

Nice wrap up. Bummer you didn’t care for Grey. I have bought it but haven’t read it yet. I was surprised how quickly it was reduced to 99 cents, even for a short time.
