Top Ten Tuesday – My Ten Favorite Top Ten Topics To Date

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Favourite Top Ten Tuesday TopicsTo Date

That’s a tongue-twister of a title! This week’s prompt is a celebration of 5 whole years of Top Ten Tuesday. I’ve been blogging since March 2014, so the number of topics I’ve covered is much less than some! I don’t know how anyone who has been doing this for five years is going to cope.

1. My Bookish Bucket List (March 2014).

Colour-coded Dream Bookcase

My first ever TTT post! It’s great looking back over the TTT’s I’ve done since I started blogging. It’s such a nostalgia kick! Out of curiosity, let’s see if I’ve managed to strike any of these off my list… New bookshelves are still a work in progress (it’s getting ridiculous now, Dad!), though my collection is coming on nicely. I haven’t managed to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour, but I have kept Confessions of a Book Geek active. Officially, I’ve scored 2 out of 10. Work in progress?

2. Books To Read If You Like… (April 2014)

The Saturday Supper Club - Come Dine With Me

I really enjoyed doing this topic, and putting the imagery together for the post. I want to put a little bit more effort into my TTT posts. I used to view them as an opportunity for discussion, as opposed to “just another meme”, but I’ve been slacking lately.

 3. Remembering Alfie – Books Featuring Animal Best Friends (May 2014)

Remembering AlfieThis was probably the first time I ever got in any way “personal” on my blog, and it was also the first time I felt the true support of this community, that I’d heard so much about (thank you all for being fabulous).

In a way, the post was very therapeutic (I basically bawled my lamps out while writing the entire thing!). It’s a sad post, but a fitting tribute to an animal I still think about all the time.

He made a lasting impact.

4. Cover Trends I Love and Loathe (June 2014)

Cover Trend Underwater

I liked this topic, because it wasn’t something I’d ever tried to put into words before. I just knew when I liked a cover, and I knew when I didn’t, but I didn’t spot any patterns in my preferences. This post showed me that there is actually a theme in the covers I’m drawn to. Kind of.

5. My Bookish Blogging Confessions (August 2014)

I LOVED writing this post, and I LOVED reading everyone else’s posts that week too. Sometimes TTT allows for much more diversity and discussion, and sometimes it can be a little more generic. This week really let everyone let loose, and it was a lot of fun to put together and chat about. I think it might be one of my favourite posts ever.

6. Favourite Movies and TV Shows (July 2014)

The Matrix Movie Gif

Aside from books, movies and TV Shows are a massive part of my life. I half-cheated that week and made a list of ten for each, which I could easily have continued into the 20’s, 30’s or 40’s… Netflix has ruined me.

7. Blogging and Bookish Resolutions (December 2014)

As we’re now at the mid-way point of 2015 (where did the time go?!), I was planning to do a full review of these soon, so I’ll just cover them briefly today… 3 out of 10 ain’t bad, right?

8. Book Bloggers I Give My Love To (January 2015)

Top Book Bloggers

This was a freebie week, and I think following some of the drama and whatnot of 2014, I had a burst of inspiration to share some love in this community! This post also inspired my Sharing the Bloggy Love feature (which I need to catchup on). But you know, it’s nice to be nice.

9. Book Geek Problems (February 2015)

I actually use #bookgeekproblems on Twitter for the frequent perils us Book Geeks must face, but for this TTT I fleshed them out a little more for your entertainment. Urgh, I really love topics like this. It’s the kind of thing I would do a discussion post on anyways, but I wait for a TTT to roll around so we can all chat about it.

10. Loves and Loathes in Romances (February 2015)

I can be the biggest romantic, and gobble contemporary romances right up, swoons and all. Or, I can be the biggest eye-rolling cynic and throw a contemporary romance at the wall. Talk about being a mood reader! I used this post to explore what makes me swoon, and what makes me sigh.

I didn’t do this topic because I was a little overwhelmed by it. I think I love them all and can’t choose!! Lol. Of course, you did a fantastic job narrowing it down, and now I’m reminiscing right along with you. Also, you have the best gifs all the time. 🙂 xx

  2. haha I loved how you included an honorable mention and reader’s choice! And those gifs are spot on!
That’s so cool that you took a look back at your very first TTT post. I should do the same… I don’t even remember what it was!

  3. I love your collection of posts, I’ve even gone back to read some of them and they are great, the book recommendations for TV shows and films post I went to read after that Come Dine With Me picture and I cannot believe I hadn’t read that book, I’m buying now (I adore Come Dine With Me, I used to binge watch at uni, I even know someone who has been on it!). I sadly skipped this week’s theme (I know there was plenty of time to write one, but I just don’t feel like I’ve written enough of them to evaluate). This is a bit like those clip show episodes, those best bit ones and a great way for me to find even more books to add to my TBR list.

  4. I didn’t bother this week, because i only have about 14 TTT posts. I only do them when the topic tickles my fancy.

I’m going to go look back at some of your olds ones now. I very much remember the book covers week 🙂

  5. You’ve done some brilliant top ten posts! 🙂 I had so much fun doing the cover trend one too, mostly because I liked ranting about all the ugly covers I hate. The Alfie post was so lovely as well, I have cats myself and was so devastated when I one died – I’d had her since I was 8.Loved the blogging confessions post too.
