I’ve been tagged to do a lot of tag posts over the past couple of months, and I’ve made drafts for them all but just didn’t get around to doing them, so now I’m playing catch-up! I’m doing the 20 Things (You Probably Didn’t Know) About Me Tag, as it seems quite an interesting one!
1. How Tall Are You?
I never know this for definite, but I think I’m around 5 foot 6, which isn’t bad, for a girl.
2. Do You Have A Hidden Talent? If So, What?
I’m not sure what the “hidden” part means… I don’t play any instruments or anything, but I have hyper-mobility syndrome, so I can do some freaky party tricks with my joints…
3. What’s Your Biggest Blogging Related Pet-Peeve?
The amount of time it takes. I love blogging and the community, but it is basically a part-time job. That, and I always schedule posts in before I’ve had the chance to complete them and then something happens in my day and I can’t get to it in time to stop it before it posts half-finished…
4. What’s Your Biggest Non-Blogging Related Pet-Peeve?
Hmmm. I have loads related to driving – your car came with indicators for a reason, please use them! Do not attempt to tail-gate me when I’m doing the speed limit, I will not move for you. And for the love of God, learn how round-abouts work. I look like this a lot when I’m driving…
5. What’s Your Favourite Song?
I can’t pick just one, that isn’t possible. There are some that I’ve loved for a long time, and there are some that I take notions for. I’ll include some YouTube videos below for ones I’m playing on repeat at the minute…
6. What’s Your Favourite Etsy Shop?
Again, so not possible to pick just one! However, I’ve collaborated with some amazing Etsy stores in the run-up to Christmas to offer my wonderful readers (yes, you!) exclusive discount codes, check out my Discount Codes for Bookish Gifts post.
7. What’s Your Favourite Way To Spend Your Free Time When You’re Alone?
Is it ridiculously obvious to say I read? I blog. I do freelance work. I spend time on the Internet looking at many silly things. I watch movies and binge-watch TV Shows (I recommend Orphan Black, Cold Feet, Charmed, Big Bang Theory, Sex And The City, Friends and Orange Is The New Black… I could go on…). Currently, I’m watching a whole lot of House (thank you, Netflix!).
8. What’s Your Favourite Junk Food?
I really try my best not to eat too much junk. Not that I notice many great benefits to be honest. If I’m in the mood for some munchies I’ll reach for Fruit Pastilles, Cheddar Biscuits or some sort of chocolate biscuit.
My ultimate comfort food though is a a cup of tea or coffee and a bun, like a big cinnamon-swirl-type bun. I’m lucky if I have one of these three times a year, but when I do I absolutely savor it! Hence the need to photograph the last one…
9. Do You Have Pets?
Yes, I have a cat called Roxie. I did have a wonderful cat called Alfie, but sadly he was hit by a car and didn’t make it earlier this year (I dedicated a TTT post to him). My boss rescued Roxie after she was hit by a car, suffering injuries to her hind legs, but he couldn’t give her the attention she needed, so he gave her to me.
10. What Are Your Favourite Fiction and Non-Fiction Books?
For real with this question?! At the minute, my favourite fiction books are the Harry Potter series, Throne of Glass series, Maybe Someday, Ugly Love, The Storyteller, One Day and We Need To Talk About Kevin. In fact, here is a link to my favourites shelf on Goodreads. My favourite Non-Fiction books are a bit trickier, these are usually memoirs or study/business-related books.
11. What Are Your Favourite Beauty Products?
Here’s something a lot of you won’t know about me – when I was a student I worked at two beauty stores, and I used to have a beauty blog. Around 6 years ago, when Zoella et al. first came on the scene I set up a very dodgy beauty blog called Makeup Geek (can you see a recurring theme??). Sadly, my endeavors into the online beauty world didn’t last very long. Disclaimer: You shouldn’t let the image below put you off the following recommendations…
Best Makeup: Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (it’s pricey but amazing). Alternatively, Revlon ColourStay Foundation does a good job for half the price. You really can’t beat Urban Decay Eyeshadow, but surprisingly this relatively unknown brand, MUA, are fab, and I love my L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.
Best Skincare: I have dry skin and swear by Double Base Gel. eléni BlemishLess Cream is the best spot treatment I’ve ever come across, and it smells amazing. GlamGlow Super Mud is the best face mask I’ve ever used. I could go on about beauty products all day…
12. When Were You Last Embarrassed?
I don’t really get embarrassed that easily… the last embarrassing time I can think of was in the cinema during one of the Twilight movies – I said something to the person beside me at exactly the same time as the movie went quiet, so it was a lot louder than I intended it to be, and it may have been something slightly explicit… that was embarrassing!
13. If You Could Drink One Beverage For The Rest Of Your Life, What Would It Be?
Alcoholic, or non-alcoholic? I want to say coffee, but if that’s the only beverage I could ever drink, that probably wouldn’t be a good thing… Still, going to go with coffee.
14. What’s Your Favourite Movie?
I hate these “favourite” questions, they’re too hard!! Generally, my favourite movies include Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Beaches, The Matrix, The Bourne Movies, Disney Movies, The Money Pit, Wanted… either a girly classic or action-packed blockbuster, apparently.
15. What Were You In High School? Jock, Geek, Cheerleader etc.
Geek. Definitely a geek. A proud Teacher’s pet, nerd etc. I had a rebel phase, but it didn’t last long 😀
16. If You Could Live Anywhere In The World, Where Would It Be?
Probably exactly where I am. I don’t really have wanderlust. I did when I was younger. Ask me this question if I ever win the Lottery though and the answer may change!
17. PC Or Mac?
PC all day, every day. I think I like the idea of a Mac more than actually trying to figure out how to work the thing.
18. Last Romantic Gesture From A Crush/Date/Boyfriend?
19. Favourite Celeb?
I don’t really go mad over celebrities – but I have preferences… Rachel McAdams, Sandra Bullock, Ellen DeGeneres, Graham Norton, Michael McIntyre…
20. Which Bloggers Do You Secretly Want To Be Friends With?
When I first joined the community, I didn’t think online friendships would develop, but they have and it’s one of the best things about being a book blogger. My tag list below is probably a good place to start…
If you’re taking part, leave your link below so I can be nosy and find out more about you!
There seems to be answers missing? Or am I crazy?
Anyway, I have a similar thing to hyper-mobility syndrome, my super flexible joints are my party trick too! I love making people squirm =P
And I get so mad at bad drivers too! I always shout at them, I have to keep apologising to my passengers for my random outbursts!

You’re not crazy! I just finished this post the other day – I posted it too early the first time, which is becoming a terrible habit of mine!

I love driving, I just hate other drivers! Lol. Nope, this posted too early and I didn’t catch it in time to stop it! It’s all fixed now though 😀 R x

I heart you so much! Loves this post! And getting to learn some new things about you. 🙂
I was a total geek too. And we have a lot of fav movies and TV shows in common. I really need to get Netflix and see some of these newer shows everyone raves about.
I’m feeling under the weather today but hoping to get my blog grove back soon. I have so much to catch up on!

Awww, thanks, Brandie!! ❤
US Netflix is supposed to be so much better than ours too! I could get lost in it for days, easily!
Hope you feel better soon! I'm crossing my fingers that I can schedule a decent bit ahead for the new year… we'll see! R x

My being tagged in things is becoming unmanageable. I’m going to have to have a little session of writing out these posts because I love getting tagged, but like all things with blogging, they take time to write. I love posts like this, it is so interesting getting to know other bloggers. The beauty blog bit was very interesting though. I remember contemplating starting a beauty blog a couple of years back, but I am so incapable with make up, I’m just too lazy to put the effort in that I decided not to bother.
Also, whilst I completely agree with your love for Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, I cannot agree with your playing of Cheryl Cole. I hear that song everywhere and it make me irrationally angry because it is so catchy, I end up with it stuck in my head.

Haha! I still have a fair few tags outstanding from 2014 that I’m carrying over. At this time of year they just seem like nice and easy, conversational posts, because I doubt I have a discussion in me at the minute! Beauty blogging feels like it would take less time that book blogging, we have to actually read the books too, that’s double effort surely?! Do we get more brownie points?? Lol.
Hahaha! I have to say, it’s auto-tuned beyond belief and I’m not a big fan of all of her stuff, but it’s so damn catchy and up-beat, a single-girl-for-summer-song. Makes me :D. R x

I love Maybe Someday, too! I think it’s my favorite new adult read 🙂 I’ve only read Throne of Glass, but I’m hoping to catch up on the rest of the series next year.
I’m definitely a Mac person, but I don’t know too much about computers in general (programming, coding, etc.)

I’m really loving NA this year, and Hoover has won me over totally and completely! Ohhhh, you HAVE to, I’ve read The Assassin’s Blade and Crown of Midnight, and it just. keeps. getting. better!
I think MACs look lovely, but they’re just so different from PCs, and I use PC for work and everything, so unless I had a need to switch (design, film-making etc.) I don’t think I ever will. R x

Okay. I owe you at least one tag! I’m sorry I’m a little behind! Eeep.

AWK. THANKYOU FOR TAGGING ME, YOU FABULOUS BLOGGY FRIEND, YOU. I have done this one but it was like aaaages back. so who knows?! Refreshers are good, right?! I can always think of nine million new embarrassing things to list. -_- I laughed at yours though! HEEEEH. So awkward. 😉
Macs aren’t THAT hard! I started on a mac this year and honestly I will never ever ever go back. They’re so much smarter than pcs. hehe. BUT I WILL SAVE IT. *shushes self*
“Favourite” questions are the death of me to be honest. I always cheat and list 39507 million things because I can’t have ONE FAVOURITE.
Loved reading this so much!
Although….to be honest, you could use me as an elbow-rest. I’m 5ft. SHORT, I KNOW.

Lol! Are the questions the same? You could shake it up a bit – 20 Things V 2.0! I like doing repeat tags when the questions are different, sometimes I struggle to think of what/how to say something, so the questions give me a starting point! It was even worse because as it was Twilight there were a lot of kiddies and teens around the place and the cinema was PACKED! LMAO My best friend is 5ft, as is my mum, I’m on a heels-ban around them! R x

I am jealous that you’re 5ft 6, I’m just over 5ft and it sucks being so short. I didn’t understand the hidden part either, it means a talent others don’t know you have. So anything you can do that you haven’t told us people about. I have 0 talents, haha.
I used your pet peeve for my answer too because I DO THAT FAR TOO OFTEN! Love Ed Sheeran and Thinking Out Loud is such a beautiful song.
I have dry skin too, so I am definitely checking out your recommendation
Thanks for tagging me! I’ll be posting my answers on Friday 🙂

I don’t consider myself to be overly tall, but I guess I must be taller than average?
Thinking Out Loud melted my little ice queen heart. I have it on repeat. I’m addicted!
Definitely check out Double Base! I get dry skin and have psoriasis outbreaks from time to time and it’s brilliant. Everyone bangs on about E45 but I’ve tried em all and DB is best!
Looking forward to your answers! R x
