Top Ten Books I Want To Reread
I don’t reread half as much as I used to pre-blogging, and I definitely don’t reread as much as I would like. I’m thinking I might get the chance to do some rereading towards the end of this year and over the Christmas holidays, as I’ll be taking a full 2 weeks off work. Bliss!
1. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger – I am so overdue a reread of this book, it’s not even funny. It’s a bit of a chunky read, but I’ve always loved it, and I really enjoyed the movie adaptation too. Hopeful that my opinion of this one won’t have changed too much over the years.
2. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas – I recently bought all of the released books in this series, and I haven’t even finished my first read of them yet, but I already know I’m going to want to reread this one. I’m currently just over halfway through The Assassin’s Blade, but you can check out my 5* review of Throne of Glass.
3. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover – I need to get my hands on more of CoHo’s backlist, but I wouldn’t mind rereading either Maybe Someday or Ugly Love to really get me in the CoHo mood for the release of Confess in the new year! Check out my review of Maybe Someday.
4. Minutes Before Sunset by Shannon A Thompson – I have the second book in this series waiting to be read, but I want to go back and reread this one first to make sure I’m fully clued in to the plot, because I remember when I got to the end of this book I was a little mind-blown. Check out my review of Minutes Before Sunset.
5. We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver – Are you sick of me recommending this book? I push it on everyone, and it’s one of my favourite books ever, and I’m in desperate need of a reread.
6. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins – I read the three of these books in four days when I first got my hands on them just over a year ago, but I haven’t read them since and want to refresh myself before the next movie…
7. The Cousins’ War series by Phillipa Gregory – I eagerly anticipated the last book in this series, and bought it for an absolute steal in hardcopy from The Book People. But of course, I haven’t got to it yet… I think I want to reread the first five books before finishing the series off.
8. Fifty Shades of Grey series by E L James – Ohhh, I know. I can just feel the judgement. I read these books in 2012 and I’m not ashamed to say I enjoyed them. I really want to read them again before I go see the movie. Interested to see what I make of them second time around…
9. PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern – I first read this book when I was around 16, and it made me bawl like a baby, I loved it. I met Cecelia Ahern at a book signing for If You Could See Me Now, but being a newbie to signings I didn’t realise you could bring books you already owned to be signed too. A couple of years later this was turned into (an OK) movie, and I’m raging I never got my copy signed.
10. Harry Potter series by J K Rowling – When I was younger I easily read this series once per year, but I haven’t gotten around to it for a little while. Surely, there’s nothing better over the Christmas season than cosying up with Harry and friends, and marathoning the movies?
What books do you really want to reread? Do you reread often, or has blogging took over? Link me up or let me know in the comments! Happy reading, Book Geeks!
I’m with you with HP. Rereading the series and binge watching the movies sounds like a marvelous way to spend one’s Christmas.

YES, to CoHo and 50! I want to reread all of Hoover’s books, eventually. And I want to reread 50 before the movie. But I never ever reread books. I want to remedy that soon. Maybe I should make that a goal every month next year – reread at least one favorite book a month. I never stick to stuff like that, but it’s a good thought. Lol.
Great list!

Same. I love me some CoHo! I want to make that a bookish resolution too, but I’m hoping I’ll get to reread some more over Xmas. It’ll be interesting to make some bookish resolutions this year and then look back on them next year. I really hope I’m still blogging then, I can’t believe I’ve been doing it for as long as I have, I don’t tend to stick to many hobbies… R x

I’d reread several of these too. Love Throne of Glass and Maybe Someday. (Read Hopeless next!) I’ll have to take your advice on “We Need to Talk About Kevin!”
Happy re-reading 🙂

When I was younger I read Harry Potter over and over, too. Although, at that time only 4 books were out! But I’ve only read the full series through twice. I’m trying to re-read them now, though and am reading book 4 right now.
And no judgement! you should read whatever you want!!

THG and HP are ALWAYS on my re-read list. 😉 Seriously, I read THG trilogy 2x in a row when I first got them, and I’ve re-read them at least twice since then, always in a 3-4 day binge.

Yep, before I started blogging I reread all the time! It’s next to impossible right now though, and i honesty, I kinda miss it!
I just started Crown of Midnight yesterday – I was going to read Assassin’s Blade first, but I end up caving in and continuing on with the story first. I loved Throne of Glass so much, and I know if I had read it when I wasn’t blogging, I probably would have started reading it again right after I finished it. And a million yeses to The Hunger Games! I’ve only read them once, and I would LOVE to reread them. I feel like I need to reread them actually, it’s crazy to think I’ve probably forgotten loads of important little details! Great list, thanks for sharing 🙂

I miss rereading too, but I have a physical tbr of over 100 books…
I was going to continue with the series, but the backstory intrigued me far too much, the prequels are so good. I want to reread THG too to pick up on details, but I know I didn’t really like that last book – Peeta’s arc was just too heartbreaking and frustrating for me! R x

Wait…that CoHo cover for Maybe Someday seems different than the one I analyzed previously! I would have judged this one much more harshly (not gonna lie LOL)
You sound like you have some expertise via. 50 Shades–so I know you have ideas flowing on creating discussion prompts HSSS!

Yea, that cover is the UK version. I prefer the US versions of the CoHo book covers.
Haha – yessss, I definitely need to make a start on that last Sex in Fiction post so we can do our first review. Been super busy with work, but I will get on it! R x

Great list! I reread the Hunger Games this year (Mockingjay twice) and I can’t wait til the movie! I really should reread Harry Potter (I’ve only reread the 7th one). My sister has read them once a year for the past 8 years and keeps trying to push me to read them again. Happy rereading!

I am a bit torn on THG, I think I’ll read Battle Royale before I reread THG and see what the fuss is about, and how similar they really are. I agree on Potter and ToG 😀
I still haven’t read 50SoG but I’ll get to it, I am too curious 😀

I’d like to read Battle Royale too, but I want to reread THG because there’s loads in there that I want to pick up on deets wise. I definitely enjoyed 50 shades when I read it two years ago, my sister loved it too, and reread it recently and picked a few holes in it, but she still likes it. Looking forward to seeing what you make of it! R x

I was dubious. I didn’t think I’d like it, and I was put off by the hype. But this is the first book/series in a long time where the hype didn’t bother me at all because this just totally lived up to everything for me!

Love your choices! I’m going to have to add the White Queen to my to-read queue.

That series is so, so good! Do you like historical fiction? I watched The White Queen BBC TV Series and completely fell in love, then I read the books, which were amazing, I usually wouldn’t be into historical fiction (or at least I thought I wouldn’t be), but The Cousins’ War series started a new addiction for me. THEN I watched The Tudors TV Show, as The White Queen is basically King Henry VIII’s grandmother, so they all run into each other… Am I fangirling and boring you yet???
The Book People had a set of 4/6 books for around 6.99 I think, but it seems to be out of stock at the minute, they have two of the books in a set though – http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=235223&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100 if you’re UK based this site is brilliant, if not I think it’s still cheap with shipping for the deals 😀

😀 We should all set up a 50 Shades Support Group! Oh my gosh, you should make it a priority read, I honestly never shut up about it. I read it for the first time when I was 17 as part of a book club my school started up, thank God for that teacher! And it has stuck with me ever since. R x

I really want to be able to reread the Hunger Games series too with the movie new release, although I didn’t before catching fire and I found that the movie seemed done well enough to jog my memory! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Throne of Glass so much, I’m having a bit of a hard time getting into it but I want to love it so bad!

I haven’t read them before seeing the movies either up until now, though I have to say while I think the movies are really good, there were loads of things in the first and second movies that confused my friends who hadn’t read the books, it was kind of like the producer was expecting viewers to have read it, as some things weren’t properly explained. I wasn’t having massive feels for Throne of Glass until just over halfway in, it took me a little while to get into the world-building as it’s quite complex, and I’m never usually that good with books that have maps, but now I’m completely adoring it. By the end of the first book I was obsessed! 😀

So, Harry Potter is pretty much on every reread list ever! I am so with you on TOG! Such an incredible series and P.S. I Love You! I loved that book so much when I first read it! It made me laugh, it made me cry! I’ll definitely have to give that a reread!

I reread all the time. At least one of every 5 books I read is a reread. Right now I am reading Harry Potter again. Just finished the third book and will start the fourth soon. Been thinking the Hunger Games will be another reread soon. It is a big joke in my family how often I watch the HP movies. Revisiting stories that I love are one of the best parts of reading.

That sounds brill! I definitely don’t reread that much, maybe 10% of what I read in a year at a push… Might change that up next year! R x

It had been years since I read Time Travellers Wife and I know I loved it but for whatever reason I’ve not read it since. I feel like maybe I should, but there are plenty of books I feel like I should read. Also, PS I Love You, I don’t know if I could reread, it left me a wreck last time I read it, I kept randomly crying whilst reading because I knew what was going to happen and I knew everything would make me emotional, but maybe I was just being too sensitive. Love your list though, great reads, and some books that I still haven’t gotten around to reading despite everyone telling me I should like The White Queen and We Need To Talk About Kevin.

Same, I haven’t read it in ages either, but I plan to fit it in this month for Sci-Fi November. Really looking forward to it, as I can recall the movie more than the book these days from watching it so often lol I LOVED PS I Love You and can’t wait for a reread. I cried when I read it, and I’m curious to see if it makes me bawl again. I don’t cry often at books, so wondering if I just don’t cry as much as I used to when I was younger, or if the weepies will still have the same effect on me. The White Queen series and Kevin are epic, do it! 😀

I don’t do a lot of re-reading, but I think The Time Traveler’s Wife should definitely be near the top of my list. It’s been ages since I’ve read it, but I loved it so much. I’m not sure I could handle it knowing what’s coming, but it’s such a brilliant book.

I’m so looking forward to the reread, and then rewatching the movie after, of course! I know a lot of people aren’t fans of the adaptation, but I enjoyed it, though I am wondering if that’s because there was a gap between me reading the book and watching the movie, whereas this time I’ll be doing it straight after each other. I remember thinking I wasn’t a fan of the casting for Henry at the start, but he grew on me, and I ADORE Rachel McAdams. R x
