Top Ten Books I Want To Reread

I don’t reread half as much as I used to pre-blogging, and I definitely don’t reread as much as I would like. I’m thinking I might get the chance to do some rereading towards the end of this year and over the Christmas holidays, as I’ll be taking a full 2 weeks off work. Bliss!

Top Ten Rereads Part 1

1. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger – I am so overdue a reread of this book, it’s not even funny. It’s a bit of a chunky read, but I’ve always loved it, and I really enjoyed the movie adaptation too. Hopeful that my opinion of this one won’t have changed too much over the years.

2. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas – I recently bought all of the released books in this series, and I haven’t even finished my first read of them yet, but I already know I’m going to want to reread this one. I’m currently just over halfway through The Assassin’s Blade, but you can check out my 5* review of Throne of Glass.

3. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover – I need to get my hands on more of CoHo’s backlist, but I wouldn’t mind rereading either Maybe Someday or Ugly Love to really get me in the CoHo mood for the release of Confess in the new year! Check out my review of Maybe Someday.

4. Minutes Before Sunset by Shannon A Thompson – I have the second book in this series waiting to be read, but I want to go back and reread this one first to make sure I’m fully clued in to the plot, because I remember when I got to the end of this book I was a little mind-blown. Check out my review of Minutes Before Sunset.

5. We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver – Are you sick of me recommending this book? I push it on everyone, and it’s one of my favourite books ever, and I’m in desperate need of a reread.

Top Ten Rereads Part 2

6. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins – I read the three of these books in four days when I first got my hands on them just over a year ago, but I haven’t read them since and want to refresh myself before the next movie…

7. The Cousins’ War series by Phillipa Gregory – I eagerly anticipated the last book in this series, and bought it for an absolute steal in hardcopy from The Book People. But of course, I haven’t got to it yet… I think I want to reread the first five books before finishing the series off.

8. Fifty Shades of Grey series by E L James – Ohhh, I know. I can just feel the judgement. I read these books in 2012 and I’m not ashamed to say I enjoyed them. I really want to read them again before I go see the movie. Interested to see what I make of them second time around…

9. PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern – I first read this book when I was around 16, and it made me bawl like a baby, I loved it. I met Cecelia Ahern at a book signing for If You Could See Me Now, but being a newbie to signings I didn’t realise you could bring books you already owned to be signed too. A couple of years later this was turned into (an OK) movie, and I’m raging I never got my copy signed.

10. Harry Potter series by J K Rowling – When I was younger I easily read this series once per year, but I haven’t gotten around to it for a little while. Surely, there’s nothing better over the Christmas season than cosying up with Harry and friends, and marathoning the movies?

What books do you really want to reread? Do you reread often, or has blogging took over? Link me up or let me know in the comments! Happy reading, Book Geeks!

YES, to CoHo and 50! I want to reread all of Hoover’s books, eventually. And I want to reread 50 before the movie. But I never ever reread books. I want to remedy that soon. Maybe I should make that a goal every month next year – reread at least one favorite book a month. I never stick to stuff like that, but it’s a good thought. Lol.

    Great list!

  2. I’d reread several of these too. Love Throne of Glass and Maybe Someday. (Read Hopeless next!) I’ll have to take your advice on “We Need to Talk About Kevin!”
    Happy re-reading 🙂

  3. When I was younger I read Harry Potter over and over, too. Although, at that time only 4 books were out! But I’ve only read the full series through twice. I’m trying to re-read them now, though and am reading book 4 right now.

And no judgement! you should read whatever you want!!

  4. Yep, before I started blogging I reread all the time! It’s next to impossible right now though, and i honesty, I kinda miss it!

I just started Crown of Midnight yesterday – I was going to read Assassin’s Blade first, but I end up caving in and continuing on with the story first. I loved Throne of Glass so much, and I know if I had read it when I wasn’t blogging, I probably would have started reading it again right after I finished it. And a million yeses to The Hunger Games! I’ve only read them once, and I would LOVE to reread them. I feel like I need to reread them actually, it’s crazy to think I’ve probably forgotten loads of important little details! Great list, thanks for sharing 🙂

  5. I am a bit torn on THG, I think I’ll read Battle Royale before I reread THG and see what the fuss is about, and how similar they really are. I agree on Potter and ToG 😀
I still haven’t read 50SoG but I’ll get to it, I am too curious 😀

  6. I loved Fifty Shades. No Shame. Also, I’ve had We Need to Talk About Kevin on my tbr for years. I actually found a copy at a goodwill and thought it seemed really interesting. But I forgot I had it until I read your post.

  7. I really want to be able to reread the Hunger Games series too with the movie new release, although I didn’t before catching fire and I found that the movie seemed done well enough to jog my memory! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Throne of Glass so much, I’m having a bit of a hard time getting into it but I want to love it so bad!

So, Harry Potter is pretty much on every reread list ever! I am so with you on TOG! Such an incredible series and P.S. I Love You! I loved that book so much when I first read it! It made me laugh, it made me cry! I’ll definitely have to give that a reread!

I reread all the time. At least one of every 5 books I read is a reread. Right now I am reading Harry Potter again. Just finished the third book and will start the fourth soon. Been thinking the Hunger Games will be another reread soon. It is a big joke in my family how often I watch the HP movies. Revisiting stories that I love are one of the best parts of reading.

  10. It had been years since I read Time Travellers Wife and I know I loved it but for whatever reason I’ve not read it since. I feel like maybe I should, but there are plenty of books I feel like I should read. Also, PS I Love You, I don’t know if I could reread, it left me a wreck last time I read it, I kept randomly crying whilst reading because I knew what was going to happen and I knew everything would make me emotional, but maybe I was just being too sensitive. Love your list though, great reads, and some books that I still haven’t gotten around to reading despite everyone telling me I should like The White Queen and We Need To Talk About Kevin.

  11. I don’t do a lot of re-reading, but I think The Time Traveler’s Wife should definitely be near the top of my list. It’s been ages since I’ve read it, but I loved it so much. I’m not sure I could handle it knowing what’s coming, but it’s such a brilliant book.
