*UPDATE* 11/07/2014
A new and (in my opinion) approved trailer has been released for Gone Girl! I’m really looking forward to this adaptation. I loved the book and hated the ending, but still love it overall. Go figure. This trailer is a big improvement on the first one, but I think they’re maybe giving away a lot of the best bits, and I hate when that happens in trailers. Anywho – feast your eyes on this:
Original Post from April 15th and First Trailer Below:
I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of this trailer for some time, and it’s finally here!!
I haven’t done a full review on this blog of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and I read it quite a while ago, but to summarise my thoughts: I LOVED this book…and yet there were parts that I hated too. Confusing, right? I loved the writing style; it just seemed “real”, the nitty-gritty was laid bare for all to see, and I absolutely adored the page or two about the “cool girl”. For me the twists in this book came from nowhere and they had me completely hooked. I hated Nick, despised him even, and then BOOM I felt so sorry for Nick and I hated Amy, all the emotions! But that ending, there were so many things wrong with that ending! I’ve heard that the ending of the movie has been re-written, so I can’t wait to see what happens with it. Speaking of the movie here is the trailer –
I’m excited to see this adaptation, and I really like Ben Affleck as Nick, not so sure about this trailer though… it doesn’t pack as much of a punch as I thought it would.

Ohmigosh GONE GIRL, I feel the same way. I threw this book across the room several times and then ran and picked it up and kept reading – the emotions! The anger! The questions! I loved parts and hated parts and how can a book do all of that?! I can’t wait to see how they changed it for the movie.

I KNOW!! I’ve never felt so much hate for a character, only to have a great big, “na, na, na, na, na” thrown in my face and then all the hate goes towards a different character. It was so well done, and then that ending happened. I’ll never forgive Flynn for that ending, but I STILL can’t help but love this book. Thanks for commenting 🙂

Definitely should, especially if the rumours are true and they’re changing the ending slightly! I LOVED that book – there are parts I hate, but the fact a book makes me have such strong feelings makes me love it!

uuugh why do they always feel the need to change the endings?!

See, now I wasn’t a big fan of the book ending – so I was glad they’d changed it for the movie. But I’ve heard it’s not a big plot change, so I’m not sure what to make of it. Flynn re-wrote the ending for the movie. Looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with it. R x

The end of this book was infuriating – but it was a shockingly good read. I think the movie will be awesome!

I’m the same, I’ve had this book on my Kindle FOREVER but I’m yet to read it! I don’t tend to go to the cinema though so will have extra time to read it before the DVD release 😉 The trailer looks fab, I love Ben Affleck! x
